The wine is made primarily from Madera, Paso Robles, and Lodi grapes. Bentonite (diatomaceous earth) is used to filter the wine rather than egg whites or other animal-derived fining agents. Certified sustainable, vegan and gluten-free. The nose opens with fruit-forward aromas of pomegranate and licorice, followed by bright cherry, mushroom, and toasted oak flavors on the palate.

Made by California winemaker Alyssa Reynolds, Buttercup is named for the golden wildflowers that frame the vineyards of the California hillside. Inspired by the small but memorable moments that enrich our days: someone's smile, a crisp breeze, or a wildflower in the landscape. These are wines made to enhance any occasion in a memorable, sumptuous style distinguished by lush, rich and full flavors. With degrees in viticulture and oenology, Alyssa Reynolds is a creative and innovative winemaker who is passionate about crafting captivating wines. Her interest is not limited to making great wine, but her voracious appetite and creative, innovative approach to her work has earned her a reputation as one of California's leading female winemakers, even though less than 10% of winemakers in California are women. Her insatiable appetite and creative, innovative approach to her work has made her a standout among the less than 10% of female winemakers in California, even though she is a young woman.
